Action (action) is a genre of film art that illustrates the well-known thesis: "Goodness must have fists." The main character faces evil. "Happy end" is an indispensable attribute of an action movie, evil must be punished.

In 1911, in the suburb of Katerynoslav (modern Dnipro), director and cameraman Danylo Sakhnenko shot the first feature film of national production - "Zaporizka Sich".
