Fairbanks (USA); the success of the comic drama was associated with the name of the great French actor M. Linder, whose creative output had a significant impact on the development of this genre in world cinema in general and on the work of the world comedy classic Charlie Chaplin in particular.

The tape "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" owed its success to the brilliant synthesis of the original literary source (the novel of the same name by M. Kotsyubynskyi), directing, cinematography and artistic skill, music, and acting. That is why the success of this film was shared between director S. Paradzhanov, cameraman Yu. Illenko, artist H. Yakutovych, composer M. Skoryk, actors I. Mykolaichuk, L. Kadochnikova.

In recent years, Ukrainian feature films have shaken up the film industry. The film "Donbas" jointly produced by Ukraine, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Romania won the prize of the Cannes program in 2018 and was nominated by Ukraine for the "Oscar" in the category "Best Foreign Language Film".
